Sören Birke

Sören Birke is a cultural and theater scientist, cultural manager, managing partner of Consense Gesellschaft zur Förderung von Kultur mbH in the Kulturbrauerei Berlin and musician. In 1982 he began playing the blues harmonica as a self-taught artist and learned the cello, jew's harp and duduk. Since 1983 he has toured Germany, USA, Australia, Poland and Armenia as a live musician at major festivals and with renowned musicians. He has worked and performed with Gerd Conradt, Spiridon Schischigin, Dirk Michaelis, the 17 Hippies, Magda Piskorczy, Hu-Lu-Si, Lutz Glandien and Robin Hemingway. He published books and CDs and is co-initiator of the campaign Musik 2020 Berlin and the Music Board Berlin.
